What Astrology Port collects, why we need it, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed.

What we collect
- Details you type into the reading request: your name, email address, date of birth, the zodiac sign you selected, and — if you choose to add them — your time and city of birth and how you would like to be addressed.
- Messages you send us: whatever you include when you write or call, together with our reply.
- Ordinary server logs: our host records the pages requested, the time of the request, a truncated IP address and a browser string, for security and diagnostics.
We do not ask for and never hold payment card details, bank details, government identifiers, or information about your health.
How the request form behaves
The reading request on our home page is checked in your own browser before it goes anywhere. The answers you type are not written to browser storage and are not placed in a cookie. When the form is completed, the only value carried forward in the web address is the zodiac sign you chose, so that the confirmation page can greet you correctly.
Why we use it
- To calculate your chart and write the reading you asked for — this is what you consented to when you ticked the consent box.
- To reply to correspondence and resolve problems.
- To keep the site secure and working, which is our legitimate interest as its operator.
- To meet record-keeping obligations where the law requires it.
Marketing email
If you have requested a reading, we may occasionally write with related astrological material. Every one of those messages carries a single-click unsubscribe link, and using it stops them immediately without affecting the reading you asked for. We do not sell, rent, trade or share your contact details with third parties for their own marketing.
Who sees your information
Your details are visible to the reader preparing your chart and to the person handling correspondence. Beyond that, we rely on a small number of service providers — website hosting and email delivery — who process data only on our instructions and under written contract. We will also disclose information where the law compels us to.
How long we keep it
Birth details supplied for a reading are retained for twenty-four months so that we can answer follow-up questions about the chart, then deleted. Correspondence is kept for the same period. Server logs are rotated within ninety days. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of the address on a suppression list purely so that we do not contact it again.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask us to give you a copy of what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, or object to a particular use. You may withdraw consent for the reading at any time. Residents of California may additionally ask what categories of personal information we have collected and to whom it has been disclosed; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
To exercise any of these, write to hello@astrologyport.com. We answer within thirty days and never charge for a request. Exercising a right will never cause us to treat you differently.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and carries no tracking pixels. Any cookie present is strictly necessary for the page to function.
Children
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us details, contact us and we will delete them.
International visitors
Our systems are operated in the United States. If you contact us from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US under appropriate safeguards.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will revise the date at the top of the page. Material changes affecting how we use information already given to us will be notified by email where we hold an address for you.
